ELIGIBILITY

All individuals, teams, or companies that wish to enter a computer go program are in principle eligible to compete for the cup. The computer go program must be "owned" by those entering it, in the sense that the entrants have full intellectual property rights to substantially all of the components of the program. Entrants may be required to place source code in escrow with a law firm in order to verify ownership and absence of infringements on intellectual property if necessary. A program which does infringe, or makes unauthorized use of any algorithm or code is not permitted to compete for the cup, and if it is determined that a program has in fact infringed or made such unauthorized use of an algorithm or code, that program's illegal status will be publicly announced and the program in question stripped of any honors and prizes.

Other rules, including additional eligibility requirements and details of how to enter, as well as the detailed schedule, will be set forth by the competition organizers.
